Hi all,

I’m pleased to announce that SP01 Compute-as-commodity short paper is open for contribution. Contribution will be open until Friday 29th May.

> **Paper Abstract**
> Between 2022 and 2026, decentralised compute networks moved from speculative concept to revenue-generating infrastructure. The category now carries circulating market capitalisation near US$10 billion and 2025 on-chain revenues of approximately US$72 million, with AI laboratories and developers paying for compute on these networks and a shift in narrative concerning the targetted desire to scale compute resources globall suggests that compute, specifically on-chain should be further investigated to assist policy makers, regulators and venture operators. We ask, in this short paper, whether _decentralised compute networks could be considered commodity markets._ We do not aim to settle the question. We propose a small vocabulary, sketch a framework, and walk it briefly through four named networks.

Please DM me with any questions.
