We operate the Nyx Foundation, a non-profit research foundation specializing in Ethereum. Our current work includes formal verification of post-quantum signature schemes and cryptographic protocols for Ethereum upgrades, bug discovery in Ethereum client implementations, developing Ethereum client and its cryptographic primitives, and analysis of decentralized finance.
When Professor Matsuo visited our house, we shared and discussed the most important issues facing Ethereum. (A report is available in Japanese; please translate and read it.)
During our discussion, the topic of trust assurance was also raised.
Today, PSE released a new Request for Proposal for the Ethereum Research Grant. The list here represents the most pressing issues for the Ethereum Foundation to address in the near future. If we submit a proposal and it is accepted, we will have an opportunity to collaborate.
Among them is the “Trust Assurance Framework.” This is an initiative to create and implement an evaluation framework for Ethereum’s cryptographic protocols, similar to a SOC2-style assurance definition.
Proposal
Having been involved with BGIN for nearly two years, I believe this is exactly what BGIN has been working on.
We would like to discuss the possibility of collaborating with you on this RFP. Please let us know if you are available for a discussion.
Agreed @shinichiro.matsuo lets follow up regarding this track with Ethereum Foundation. Perhaps we prepare a cc’d email with Nyx on the intentions around the block 14 session:
IKP: Privacy Enhanced Authentication and Key Management (competition)
to be on both the Japan METI contest as well as BGIN’s contribution to the RFP above?
