We are preparing the workshop proposal for CoDecFin 2027 (Coordination of Decentralized Finance) for submission to Financial Cryptography and Data Security 2027 (FC’27).
CoDecFin is the FC-associated workshop on technology and operational issues of permissionless blockchain and decentralized finance. BGIN was initiated after early CoDeFi / CoDecFin workshops, and CoDecFin discussions continue to inform BGIN documents and Working Group agendas.
We would like BGIN community input before we finalize and submit the proposal.

1. Topics / special focus areas for 2027
CoDecFin keeps a broad CFP, and each year we also emphasize areas tied to current multi-stakeholder needs.
Topics highlighted in the CoDecFin 2026 proposal / CFP (starting point):
- Identity, privacy, and key management
- Centralized custody and decentralized custody
- Post-quantum cryptography (PQC) migration
- Cybersecurity and information sharing
- Governance of the security supply chain
- Governance sustainability (e.g. vs censorship resistance)
- Application of PETs (ZKP and MPC) to blockchain
- Privacy-enhanced authentication
- Forensics and on-chain analysis
- Illicit activities
- Maturity definitions and assessment criteria
- Standardization and R&D direction of digital assets, stablecoins, and CBDCs
- Preventing use of crypto-assets in ransomware attacks
- Scaling cryptocurrency, regulatory challenges, and mainstream adoption
- Common understandings of “regulatory goals”
- FATF: AML and privacy

2. Linkage to BGIN Working Groups
We want the draft CFP to reflect issues WGs are actively working on.
- Which current or planned WG deliverables should appear explicitly in the proposal / draft CFP?
- Which open questions from Block 14 (or upcoming Blocks / GDC) need an academic track at CoDecFin 2027?
3. Chairs, Program Committee, and helpers
Please nominate (including self-nominations), with affiliation if possible:
- Program Co-chair candidates

Working framing (not final)
Title: The 8th Workshop on Coordination of Decentralized Finance (CoDecFin) 2027 — Regulators meet Industry meet Devs meet Researchers
Purpose (working text): CoDecFin identifies and discusses technology and operational issues of permissionless blockchain and decentralized finance, bringing researchers, builders, operators, regulators, and other stakeholders into a shared academic and practice-oriented venue. Outcomes are expected to contribute to multi-stakeholder coordination, including work in BGIN.
Note: This workshop does not endorse any specific decentralized finance projects or products. Ecosystem neutrality (including Bitcoin and non-EVM communities) remains a design goal.
