Hi everyone, FYI, I made several announcements below to the current steering committee of BGIN.
- Block#11
It’s been almost one and a half months since Block#10 in Tokyo. We need to confirm the dates and venue of the next Block meeting, Block#11. Talking with core participants for the last few weeks, we have reached an agreement that collocation with DC Fintech Week (Oct 21 - Oct 24, 2024) in Washington, D.C. would be the best option. Considering most of the participants in DC Fintech Week will be regulators/business operators, we are also planning to organize a smaller event (just 1 or 1.5 days) before or after ETHGlobal (Oct 18 - 20, 2024) in San Francisco so that we can incorporate more developers into the BGIN community.
Please make any comments on this thread if there is any agreement or disagreement by Thursday, May 2, 12 PM UTC. If there are no further comments, I would like to consider this proposal approved.

- Co-Chairs and Steering Committee Members Vote
Given that there has never been a vote to elect Co-Chairs and Steering Committee members since the inception of the BGIN, we will be sure to have a vote at the next Block meeting. If you would like to be a candidate for election as an incoming member, we ask that you participate in person or at least remotely. We would like to ask those who wish to be candidates to indicate their willingness, but we will discuss the voting method with the Secretary Office (Admin Team) and get back to you later.
- OpenWallet Foundation
The OpenWallet Foundation Founder, Daniel Goldscheider, and BGIN Co-Chair, Shin’ichiro Matsuo, had discussions and agreed to form a liaison between BGIN and the OpenWallet Foundation. Daniel has participated in several recent Block meetings and has contributed to the discussions mainly on Wallet Management and Credential Management.
The OWF is a consortium of companies and non-profit organizations collaborating to drive global adoption of open, secure and interoperable digital wallet solutions as well as providing access to expertise and advice. The OWF aims to set best practices for digital wallet technology through collaboration on standards-based OSS components that issuers, wallet providers and relying parties can use to bootstrap implementations that preserve user choice, security and privacy.
The liaison will allow us to share the results of the BGIN discussions and documentation with another standards-setting body, and we look forward to receiving new input from them. Please make any comments on this thread if there is any agreement or disagreement by Thursday, May 2, 12 PM UTC. If there are no further comments, I would like to consider this proposal approved.
